Engine 251
Engine 251 is a 2001 Pierce Dash Pumper and is the our primary response engine for most fires and alarms. 251 is first due on all reported fires, fire alarm activations and other types of fire related emergencies.
This
apparatus has a 2,000 gallon per minute pump and has a booster water tank aboard
that has 750 gallons of water. 251 has three crosslays above the pump panel that
are approximately 200 feet of 1 3/4 inch hose. 251 also
carries a 300 foot 2 1/2 attack line that is pulled off of the back and carries
3 inch supply hose as well as 1,500 feet of 5 inch large diameter supply hose.
As well as carrying a large amount of hoses for fighting fires, 251 carries an assortment of tools that will be used at fire scenes. there are various hand tools such as axes, halligans, bolt cutters, different types of fire extinguishers, tarps a chain saw that is specially designed for cutting roofs, electric cords, tool box, an 8000 watt generator, and spare first aid kit. 251 also has a positive pressure fan used in ventilation. We also carry 10 five gallon buckets of special firefighting foam that is used in fighting different kinds of fires such as liquid fires. This engine also carries a 24 foot ground ladder as well as a roof ladder on a hydraulic ladder rack.
Engine 251 has room for a driver, officer, and 6 firefighters. There are 5 seats that contain Air Packs and two flip down seats in the rear of the cab that firefighters ride to calls in. also contained in the crew area are various flashlights, a Thermal Imaging Camera, gas meter, and portable radios used for firefighters to communicate with.
