Rescue 253
Rescue
253 is a 1996 Pierce Rescue and is the First due piece for all car accidents
with entrapment, major hazmat spills, cellar pump outs, and all water related
emergencies, including ice rescues. 253 also responds to all house fires and
other emergencies in town and out of town.
253 contains a vast variety of power tools that can be used on both accident and house fire scenes. Different kinds of saws and hydraulic tools are carried on this piece to assist where needed.
In
the rear of 253 is a cascade system for filling SCBA bottles while on scene at
house fires and other long duration emergencies. 253 also now carries different
kinds of stabilization equipment to be used at the scenes of collapses and where
vehicles are overturned or on their sides.
The
extrication equipment on 253 includes the Jaws of Life, O Cutters, and the
recently donated Maverick Combination Tool. Also included are a portable hurst
unit, hydraulic rams, and air bags used to remove people who are pinned
underneath or between objects
